Chris Nelson
Mr. Nelson’s engineering sciences education, diverse career experience, as well as his past real estate investing transactions, have adequately prepared him for the duties of mortgage financing and managing real estate investments at REICO. The cornerstone of Chris’s real estate and financial skill sets is his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree because of its focus on the application of mathematics, problem solving, and critical thinking. Those skills were also vital in his former career as a Quality Assurance Engineer, where he also mastered attention to detail, skills in adapting to new situations, and keen organizational abilities. In 2002, Mr. Nelson discovered that his true passion was the financial services sector, having held a prestigious role as an Investment and Insurance Specialist with the Royal Bank of Canada’s financial services group. For almost twelve years, Chris worked in the financial services field, where he acquired knowledge and skills of banking systems, mortgage financing, wealth accumulation, and comprehensive financial planning. While Chris was building a financial services career, he was concurrently building his own personal real estate portfolio. His main focus was single-family residences in several cities across South Western Ontario. As he expanded his portfolio, Chris enrolled in several real estate investing courses, founded REICO in 2007, and obtained a mortgage agent’s license. Mr. Nelson’s academic foundation, practical experience, and real estate investing exposure, coupled with the professionalism, ethics and integrity of his professional engineering designation, allow Chris to play a key role at REICO, whose main goal is to help investors build wealth in real estate.
